Milford City Council approved a contract with First State Inspection Agency for residential and commercial building plan review as well as inspection services. The city has been using the company since 2017.
“The city has renewed contracts annually for on-call services to assist our building code officials during vacation leaves of absences and/or increases in building permit activity,” City Manager Chris Coleman said. “Please note that there are no proposed increases in the FY 27 contract. Staff recommends authorizing them. Well, the staff would recommend to council to authorize the mayor to execute the FY 27 contract with First State Inspection Agency, Inc. for on call residential commercial building plan review and inspection services.”
A memorandum in the packet provided to council provided costs from FY23 to FY26 for services from First State Inspection Agency. In FY23, the city paid $11,959.21 and in FY24, $3,335.00. In FY25, the costs were $2,865.00 and in FY26, the city paid $7,410. A fee structure as part of the contract was also included and can be found here.
