Milford School District Board of Education welcomed one new board member while welcoming back an appointed member at a recent meeting. Dr. Sara Hale, who served as the Chief Operating Officer with the district for several years, joined the board after running unopposed in the recent board election.
Cindy McKenzie, who was appointed to the board after Dr. Adam Brownstein left with one year left on his term, was also sworn in after winning an election against Nik Dutta-Roy in May.

At the reorganization meeting, Scott Fitzgerald was elected to continue serving as president of the board. Fitzgerald ran unopposed for his seat as well. Ashlee Connell was elected as vice-president of the board.
Hale will take the seat of Matt Bucher who did not run for the board again as he is seeking election to state office. Bucher served as vice-president of the board when his term ended in July.
Hale, Fitzgerald and McKenzie will serve four-year terms on the board. The three join Victor “Butch” Elzey, Jennifer Massotti, Yanelle Powell and Connell.
