History and literary fun take center stage at the library during the second week of November, with programs offering something for history enthusiasts and young readers alike. From an engaging American history series exploring the nation’s past to a children’s trivia program celebrating beloved book characters, the week’s activities offer opportunities to learn, have fun and discover something new.
Adults are welcome to attend Chair Yog on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15 PM. This is a form of exercise that can be done seated or standing, using a chair for support. Chair yoga enhances flexibility, concentration, balance and strength, while also boosting mood, reducing stress and alleviating joint strain. Please register for each class you plan to attend individually.
Gaming Hour is held every Wednesday at 4 PM for teens. Select from a variety of Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 or Switch Games at this weekly program. Teens are limited to 30 minutes unless otherwise stated. Registration is required.
Every Thursday at 10:30 AM and at 5:30 PM, the library holds Weekly Story Time in the Children’s Room for an hour of singing, stories and crafts. Each week a different theme is showcased.
Also held every Thursday, IMAZINE Evening at 4 PM is designed for teens to work on a submission for the 16th volume of Delaware’s IMAZINE. That same Saturday, the library will hold Children’s Book Character Trivial, challenging children to demonstrate what they know about classic children’s book characters and stories. As a reminder, all adult and teen programs require registration during the Centennial Transformation construction. Teen programs are limited to those 12 to 18 unless otherwise noted. If you cannot attend a program you have registered for, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance so someone on the waiting list can be invited. Missing two programs without notice may result in a temporary suspension of registration privileges.
