Ronald Mescola, who registered to run for the Ward 2 Milford City Council seat currently held by Councilwoman Lori Connor, has announced he is withdrawing from the race. Mescola did not give a reason for his withdrawal.
A new candidate list was released by the city on Monday, April 20. The new list did not include Dawn Tomczak who withdrew from the Ward 4 race last week or Mescola. Connor did not register to run for an additional term.
The election is planned for Saturday, April 25 from 10 AM until 6 PM. The elections will be held at the Public Works building at 180 Vickers Drive, Milford. Since the mayor seat as well as council seats in Ward 1, 3 and 4 are uncontested, only voters in Ward 2 will be permitted to vote.
Mayor Todd Culotta, Councilwoman Madula Kalesis and Councilwoman Katrina Wilson will be sworn in the first week of May. Once the Ward 3 seat currently held by Councilman Michael Stewart is vacated when his term expires in May, a special election will be held to fill the vacancy. No one registered to run in Ward 3, including Stewart.
