Dennis Giles, 80, of Goldsboro, Maryland, was the victim of an accident on Sandtown Road in Felton on May 10. Delaware State Police are still investigating the crash.
Giles was driving a Kia Sorento northbound on Sandtown Road south of Willow Grove Road at an apparent high rate of speed. He passed two vehicles in a no passing zone, then failed to negotiate a curve which caused the Sorento to exit the west side of the roadway and strike two unoccupied commercial trucks and trailers in a parking lot.
According to police, Giles was not properly restrained. He was taken to an area hospital where he died. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
