Cindy McKenzie, who was appointed to the Area C seat on Milford School District Board of Education after Adam Brownstein stepped down, will remain on the board after an election held Tuesday, May 12. McKenzie was challenged by Nik Dutta-Roy.
Unofficial election results from the Department of elections showed there were 415 votes cast in the election. McKenzie received 378 (91 percent) votes while Dutta-Roy received 36 (9 percent) votes.
There was one undervote cast at Milford High School. An undervote occurs when a voter makes fewer than the maximum number of choices allowed in an election. An undervote also occurs when a voter makes no choice in a single-choice election.
McKenzie will now serve a four-year term on the board. Current president Scott Fitzgerald and Dr. Sara Hale will also serve four-year terms starting in July as they both ran unopposed. Fitzgerald represents Area D while Hale has an at-large seat vacated when Matt Bucher chose not to run for another term.
The three board members will be sworn in at an organization meeting on July 6, 2026.
