Bayhealth and BAYADA Home Health Care have received national recognition after BAYADA Home Health Care at Bayhealth in Dover was named to U.S. News & World Report’s inaugural Best Home Health Providers rankings for 2026. This follows on the heels of two nurses receiving national awards at Bayhealth.
The Dover-based agency earned a spot among the nation’s top-performing home health providers, highlighting the success of the partnership between Bayhealth and BAYADA, which began in 2017 to expand quality care for patients transitioning from hospital to home.
According to U.S. News & World Report, nearly 12,000 home health agencies nationwide were evaluated, with only about 17% receiving a “High-Performing” designation. Fourteen BAYADA offices nationwide achieved the ranking, including the Dover location serving central and southern Delaware.
“This recognition reflects what we’ve been building with BAYADA since 2017 — a seamless, high-quality continuum of care that supports patients beyond the hospital,” said Bayhealth Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Kyle Benoit. “We’re proud to see our partnership acknowledged on a national stage and, more importantly, to see our patients benefit from exceptional care in their own homes.”
The rankings are based on a data-driven methodology using information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Evaluations include quality-of-care measures such as timeliness of care, rates of preventable hospitalizations, and patient experience scores gathered through Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys.
Since forming their partnership, Bayhealth and BAYADA have worked together to provide patients with skilled nursing services, rehabilitation therapies, and in-home support designed to improve recovery outcomes and reduce unnecessary hospital readmissions.
BAYADA Home Health Care at Bayhealth is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Partner, known as CHAP, recognizing adherence to national standards for home health care quality and safety.
“Exceptional care doesn’t stop at discharge,” Benoit added. “This recognition reinforces our mission to extend compassionate, high-quality care into the home — where patients are most comfortable and outcomes can be even stronger.”
Officials said home health services are typically covered through Medicare, Medicaid, and many commercial insurance plans, with staff available to assist patients in understanding coverage and payment options.
