With their first month of construction completed, the Milford Public Library is grateful for everyone’s flexibility and understanding as they settle into their space.
“Most library services have relocated to the large meeting room downstairs, commonly known as the Smith Room,” Lea Rosell, Executive Director of the library said. “Patrons are asked to enter and exit through the portico doors. Meetings, programs and other activities will be confined to the Lions Meeting Rooms and will require registration.”
Chair yoga for adults will continue Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15 PM, providing those who participate with increased balance, flexibility, concentration and strength. Chair yoga can be done while seated or standing, using a chair for support.
The Cookbook Club will meet Monday, September 14 at 4:30 PM. Each month the group selects a cookbook, and each participant selects a recipe from the book to prepare for the following meeting. To participate, each member must choose a recipe and bring a dish to share. This month, the group will select from the Joy of Cooking. As a reminder, Milford Public Library cannot guarantee that food served at the program has not come into contact with nuts, soy or other allergens.
Children’s Weekly Story Time will also continue every Thursday at 10:30 AM and 5:30 PM. This program takes place in the Children’s Room where there is singing, stories and a craft. Each week has a different theme.
On Saturday, September 12, join the library for Play-Doh Day all day. Each child up to age 12 will receive a small container of Play-Doh to roll out, mold and press. When they are done, they can take it home. While at the library, check out some books as well!
On Tuesday, September 15, children can create nostalgic lizard key chains at 3 PM. They will use pony beads and step-by-step instructions provided.
On Thursday, September 17, the children’s staff, Nemours and Polytech Parents as Teachers provide a night of Literacy and Language Learning at 5:30 PM. Each month, this program inspires a love of learning, reading and social skills.
Every Wednesday at 4 PM, teens can enjoy Gaming Hour. Teens select from a variety of Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and Switch games. Each teen will be limited to 30 minutes unless otherwise stated.
Every Thursday, teens can work on their submission to IMAZINE at 4 PM. Delaware’s IMAZINE si for teens aged 12 to 19 who go to school or live in Delaware. Submissions are due December 31, 2026. All materials and refreshments are provided. Teens who cannot attend the program can still submit pieces by clicking here.
