On Saturday, April 25, Nina Pletcher won the Ward 2 Council seat that will be vacated by Councilwoman Lori Connor in May. Pletcher faced Kim Wills and Desiray Anderson in the race.
Pletcher received 72 votes (59 percent) of the 122 votes cast. Wills received 31 (25) percent, and Anderson 19 votes (16 percent).
“Congratulations to Councilwoman-elect Nina Pletcher,” Nadia Zychal, who also represents Ward 2, posted on social media after the election. “And thank you to both Desiray and Kim for stepping up and running for our district. It’s not an easy thing to put yourselves out there- but I know both of you did this because you care about Milford. That is commendable! Bravo for that.”
Pletcher will be sworn in on Monday, May 4 at 6 PM at City Hall.
Councilman Michael Stewart will relinquish his seat in Ward 3 at the same time. The city is planning a special election for that ward in June.
