Milford Public Library’s popular Music in the Park series will return on June 25 at the library amphitheater. The concert begins at 7 PM and is free to attend.
“We kick off the series with the 287th DE National Guard Army Band,” Lea Rosell, Executive Director of the library, said. “Known as “The Governor’s Own,” the band performs a variety of music from classical to patriotic to jazz and even popular tunes.”
On July 2nd, On the Edge will perform, playing the latest pop and rock songs along with oldies and classics. The band features excellent vocals, guitars, keyboards and saxophones. Their specialty is getting people on their feet to dance.
“Station Hill Bluegrass is on the stage July 9,” Rosell said. “If you are a bluegrass fan, you don’t want to miss this band as they provide authentic, beloved classics blended with some modern music. The members of the band have a combined 100 years’ experience playing bluegrass, so we are excited to bring them to Milford.”
One of the most popular bands in the area will return for the series on July 16 as Mike Hines and the Look takes the stage. A staple in the area for over four decades, Mike Hines and the Look is known for their dance sounds and audience interaction. Hines is a 2022 inductee into the Delaware Rock & Roll Society.
“We will bring Raising Cain to the stage on July 23 with their unique sounds,” Rosell said. “This is a nice, relaxed show, with classic rock, contemporary rock, country and more. Our series ends July 30 with the Celso Steel Band, bringing the sounds of the islands to our town.”
Bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the concert. Picnic dinners are also encouraged, or attendees can visit some of Milford’s excellent downtown restaurants before the concert, or get carry out to enjoy while they watch the show. For more information, visit the Milford Public Library website.
