Christ Episcopal Church in Milford will offer a “Blessing of the Animals and Stuffies” on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 11 AM following coffee hour at the church. The event is designed to give thanks to God for the companionship and joy animals bring to the lives of humans. Children may also bring a favorite stuffed animal to be blessed.
Many churches bless animals near October 4 which is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the Christian friar remembered for his love of animals and all of God’s creation. The blessing is open to all, not just members of Christ Episcopal Church. The blessing is held at 11 AM to give church attendees time to go home, gather their pets and stuffies, and return for the blessing.
Those who wish to have their pets blessed by Father Harry should meet at the St. Francis Statue. As a reminder, please only bring pets that are comfortable around people and other pets. All pets must be leashed or in secure carriers.
Christ Episcopal Church is located at 200 North Church Street, Milford. For more information, visit the church website.
