Delaware small business owners have until Sept. 11 to apply for the fall 2026 EDGE Grant Competition, a state program designed to provide funding to promising early-stage businesses.
The Delaware Division of Small Business is accepting applications through Sept. 11, with information and application materials available through the state’s EDGE program website. A recording of an Aug. 11 webinar explaining the program and application process is also available for prospective applicants.
The EDGE — Encouraging Development, Growth and Expansion — program provides competitive grants to eligible Delaware small businesses, helping entrepreneurs cover expenses associated with growing their operations.
Business owners who need help preparing their applications will have an opportunity to receive in-person assistance just one day before the deadline as an EDGE Pop-Up Workshop is scheduled for Sept. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Milton Public Library, 121 Union Street in Milton.

The workshop will include an overview of the EDGE program and its key requirements, along with information about what makes a strong grant proposal. Following the presentation, attendees will be able to receive one-on-one assistance tailored to their individual applications.
Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, their EDGE proposal or application, and any supporting documents they would like reviewed. Other workshops have been scheduled throughout Delaware, including events in Seaford, Wilmington and Dover.
The Division of Small Business is also making changes to this year’s competition.
According to information released by the division, the traditional two-day pitch competition will become a one-day pitch and awards event. The event will also include educational programming, opportunities to connect with business resources and a venture capital matching component.
The EDGE program is intended to help young Delaware businesses develop and expand by providing financial assistance that can be used for eligible business expenses.
Applications for the fall 2026 competition must be submitted by Sept. 11.
Business owners can find application materials, program requirements, the recorded webinar and registration information for upcoming workshops at the Delaware Division of Small Business EDGE program website. Businesses can register for workshops online as well.
