Carlisle Fire Company provided their monthly update to Milford City Council. The update included alarm numbers and information on projects the company had undertaken over the past few months.
“For the month of April, there were 66 emergencies,” Fire Chief Brennan Fountain said. “Our top alarms were automatic fire alarms at residential and commercial settings which accounted for 20 of the emergencies. Year to date, we are at 317.”
As for EMS calls, Fountain reported there were 396 emergencies. There were 96 between facility transports with almost 80 percent of them from Milford Wellness Village.
“Our substation is up and running, it’s been operational since April 21 and we’ve been successful in running a lot of our emergencies out of there,” Fountain said. “I would say a little over 70 percent of the responses are coming out of there. We are making progress on our EMS quarters. I believe they have received their final permitting to move forward.”
Fountain commended volunteer Alan Smith wo has been able to earn his EMT and firefighter certification since joining the company in 2025. Councilman Jason James asked if there was a plan for a grand opening of the substation.
“Yes, so we have not established a date, but we are working on plans to do that” Fountain said. “We will definitely notify the city when we get that planned.”
