EasySpeak, which was recently sold to new buyers, said goodbye to longtime employee, Jamie Milstead, after nine years with the restaurant. Jamie built up a following of loyal customers behind the bar at the restaurant and distillery, so many wanted to see her off in style.
“Everyone at Easyspeak knows we aren’t EasySpeak without Jamie,” a social media post celebrating her final service, read. “She’s been with us for nine years and we’ve been through life together in those nine years. Jamie is family, always and forever. Come help her close out this chapter with us, see me ugly cry and grab some bottles.”
Jamie posted on her social media as well, thanking everyone for the support over the years she was at EasySpeak.
“It’s been one hell of a ride, nine years! Oh, the stories I could tell,” she posted. “The memories, laughs, friendships, thank you to every person I crossed paths with behind that bar, y’all are the reason why I still show up. To the Kings, I’ve seen it all. Rock on! Those little girls won’t be little for long, run while you can, I love y’all.”

Many people who Jamie touched while serving drinks were sad to see her go.
“So sorry to see you go,” Maria Capel said. “Wishing you well on your journey ahead. You are one of the best bartenders and can make a mean LIT.”
Marissa King, one of the original owners of EasySpeak, expressed her appreciation for Jamie.
“If someone would have told me when I interviewed this hot mess nine years ago that she would be the hardest part of selling a restaurant, I would have laughed at them,” Marissa wrote. “Jamie, you have been so good to us, you will always be family. We’ve had some highs and lows, but one thing is for sure, you’ve always been a call away. I love you, mama.”

Jamie will has taken her talents to Burgers and Brews in Frederica which is closer to home for her, but she says EasySpeak and the connections she made there will remain in her heart forever.
EasySpeak will hold a “Passing the Torch” celebration on Saturday. Zack and Marissa King sold to new owners in order to spend more time with their young daughters.
“We’re excited to celebrate this next chapter together and welcome the new owner in the EasySpeak family,” the restaurant announced.
On Saturday, July 25, from open to close, the restaurant will offer a bottle sale starting at $15 along with drink and food specials. There are also special t-shirts for $25 available in limited quantities. EasySpeak is located at 586 Milford Harrington Highway, Milford and more information can be found online.
