On April 21, Sussex County Council discussed a request from the House of David in Milford for $2,500 to support their mobile food delivery and distribution expansion. House of David delivers meals to rural and low-income communities in the Milford area, as well as Ellendale, Lincoln and Greenwood.
“There have been no previous grants issued to this organization,” County Clerk Tracy Torbert said. “Mr. McCarron placed this request on the agenda.”
Councilman Steve C. McCarron who represents District 2 approved a $2,000 grant from is discretionary fund. Councilman John M. Rieley who represents District 5 approved $500 additional from his discretionary fund.
District 2 covers areas of Bridgeville, Ellendale, Greenwood, Lincoln, Milford and Milton while District 5 covers areas of Georgetown, Millsboro and Redden.
