On Monday, April 27, City Clerk Katrina White announced the unofficial results of the April 25 Ward 2 election, confirming that Nina Pletcher would take the seat in early May. Results must be certified by the Delaware Department of Elections to become official.
“We had Desiray Anderson with 19 machine votes and zero absentee ballot votes for a total of 19,” White said. “We had Marianina Pletcher with 70 machine votes and two cast by absentee ballot, giving her a total of 72 and we had Kimberly Wills who had 31 machine votes and zero absentee ballot votes for a total of 31 votes. So, the unofficial winner is Marianina Pletcher for the Ward 2 council seat. That was a total of 122 votes total for Ward 2.”
White also announced that Pletcher will be sworn in on May 4 at 6 PM.

“We will be holding a special election for Ward 3,” White said. “That is going to be on Saturday, June 13th, so we will be putting information out on the application process tomorrow. Anyone interested can contact the Clerk’s Office. Non-resident property owners must register with the city by Thursday, June 3 to be eligible to vote.”
At the special election, only Ward 3 voters will be permitted to vote as the election is to fill a seat vacated by Councilman Michael Stewart who did not register for a second term. The election will be from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Public Works Building, 180 Vickers Drive, Milford.
Candidate packets and nominating petitions can be obtained Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM at the City Clerk’s Office at Milford City Hall, 201 South Walnut Street, Milford. The clerk’s office asks those interested to call and make an appointment at 302-422-1111 Ext 1300 or 1303.
Qualifications for council candidates can be found on the City of Milford website. The deadline to file for the election is Friday, May 22, 2026, at 4:30 PM.
