Milford School District recently announced that Tammy Smith has been selected as the Chief Operating Officer, replacing Dr. Sara Hale who left earlier this year. Smith brings decades of experience to the district.
“We are excited to bring outstanding leaders to Milford whose experience and dedication will help move our district forward,” Laura Manges, Director of Human Resources, said. “Her experience in operations will strengthen our commitment to supporting the whole student and expanding opportunities for success both in the classroom and beyond.”
Smith brings a strong background in operations, public sector auditing and school district business management. She has served as the Director of Business and Finance at Indian River School District since 2019. Prior to that position, Smith served as Audit Manager for the State of Delaware’s Office of Auditor Accounts and as Senior Staff Accountant in the private sector.
As part of her duties in Milford, Smith will oversee core operational departments including finance, transportation, technology, facilities and child nutrition.
