Dale Hammond, 76, of Milford, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born March 26, 1950, Dale lived a life defined by hard work, quiet generosity and an unwavering devotion to his family. Those who knew him best remember him as a dependable husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose greatest happiness came from spending time with the people he loved.
Dale dedicated more than 35 years of his career to Demco, where he worked as a foreman and machine operator. Known for his strong work ethic and steady leadership, he earned the respect of his coworkers through his reliability and commitment to the job.
Outside of work, Dale found joy in life’s simple pleasures. A devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Nancy, he treasured time spent at home and always placed his family’s happiness above all else. The couple enjoyed many evenings together at the Milford Bowling Lanes, where they bowled side by side in a local league, creating friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.
A lifelong sports fan, Dale faithfully cheered for the Minnesota Vikings during football season and rarely missed an opportunity to watch the Baltimore Orioles take the field.
Although naturally reserved, Dale was known for his kindness and willingness to help others. Whether lending a hand to a friend or offering quiet support to a family member, he never hesitated to put the needs of others before his own. His quiet strength, compassion and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Hammond; his daughter, Tracy Coudriet, and her husband, Jim; his son, Dale Hammond Jr.; his granddaughter, Ashley Rivera and her husband, Jordan; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Mya Rivera and Ezra Rivera.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Hammond; his mother, Gertrude Kenton; and his brothers, Wayne Hammond and Lawrence “Buster” Hammond.
Dale’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, loyalty and quiet example.
