An agenda item on the Monday, September 28 Milford City Council agenda is an update from Emory Hill on the Milford Corporate Center. The public has raised questions regarding the success of the project.
The City of Milford began discussing the project as early as 2017 in an effort to bring high-paying jobs to Milford. In 2021, the city purchased the Fry farm on the corner of Canterbury Road and Milford-Harrington Highway with the goal to build a corporate center. Prior to the city purchasing the property, a developer proposed over 200 homes on the land, but that project never came to fruition.
An official groundbreaking ceremony was held March 4, 2025, and in June 2026, real estate marketing by Tsonias Management and Emory Hill began. Phase I infrastructure began in September 2026.
Site occupancy and building development are expected over the next 12 to 18 months. The report by Emory Hill should provide council and the public with details on the interest from proposed tenants as well as details on what types of businesses may open in the new park.
City Council meetings are open to the public both in person and online. The online access can be found on the meeting agenda. Although this is not scheduled for a public hearing, there is a 15-minute public comment period where those in person or online are able to express concerns.
