On Monday, April 13, Milford City Council approved an adjustment to the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Milford Corporate Center. The adjustment was for $823,000.
“The adopted FY26 through FY2030 Capital Improvement Plan estimated a total of $1,020,000 for the installation of electric infrastructure for all phases within the Milford Corporate Center project,” City Planner Rob Pierce said. “Of that, $820,000 is available in the FY26 and prior budget years. Phase One of the project includes $693,515 to be paid to George & Lynch for the installation of conduit, which was approved by council back on March 2 under a change order.”
Pierce explained that the remainder of the electric infrastructure for Phase One will be installed by the city electric department and costs were $741,284.51 for equipment and $200,000 for labor. This brought the total cost for electric infrastructure for Phase One to $1.6 million, leaving a shortfall of $823,000.
“These costs will be recovered by impact fees and the sale of lots in the corporate center,” Pierce said. “We are asking for the funds because we anticipate beginning expenditures in the electric department prior to July 1. Otherwise, we would have waited to discuss this as part of our capital plan update.”
Council had no questions for Pierce after his presentation. The request was approved unanimously.
A timeline of approvals for the entire project can be found on the City of Milford website.
