On Saturday, July 18, in celebration of the World Cup, the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford held a 5k run/1m walk along the Mispillion Riverwalk. Registration was at 6 AM with the race beginning at 7 AM.
“We were so excited to see the turnout for this event,” Executive Director Jasmine Castaneda-Nava, said. “To every runner and walker, thank you for making our very first World Cup 5k Run and Walk such an unforgettable experience. The incredible sea of flags, jerseys and national pride brought this event to life in the most beautiful way.”
Runners filled the streets with their World Cup jerseys, waving flags and cheering each other on. Although the group did not cross the finish line together, they started the race as one, demonstrating that Milford is one community with many cultures.
