The Milford School District is encouraging families to register incoming kindergarten students as soon as possible as officials prepare for the 2026-27 school year.
Children who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2026, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Registration can be completed online or during one of four in-person registration events scheduled throughout the summer.
District officials said early registration helps schools plan staffing and classroom needs ahead of the new academic year.
Families attending in-person registration events will have access to computers and translators. Students should accompany their parents or guardians to the registration events at Morris Early Childhood on July 27 and Banneker Elementary on Aug. 10, where student screenings will be conducted.
To complete enrollment, families must provide a parent or guardian’s driver’s license or government-issued photo identification, the child’s state-issued birth certificate with a raised seal, a completed student health appraisal, any applicable legal custody documents, and proof of residence, such as a utility bill, mortgage statement, or housing lease.
The district noted that enrollment is not considered complete until all required documents have been submitted, either electronically or in person.
Families interested in the district’s Spanish Immersion Program should note that the application deadline for the 2026-27 lottery was June 12. Students who register after that date will be placed on a waiting list for the program.
Summer registration events include:
- July 13: 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Milford School District Administrative Office.
- July 27: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morris Early Childhood (student screening required).
- Aug. 5: 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Milford School District Administrative Office.
- Aug. 10: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Banneker Elementary (student screening required).
