Milford City Council has cancelled every meeting in the month of February, but plans to meet on Monday, March 2. The cancellations were due to weather and illness of council members that would have resulted in a lack of quorum.
The meeting on Monday will likely be a long one as it will include staff reports from department heads, the monthly finance report and several updates. Carlisle Fire Company will provide the Fire and EMS Report, and council will appoint the Board of Elections for the upcoming election on Saturday, April 25. In addition, council will appoint members of the Tree Preservation and Advisory Council.
There will be a discussion about funding for the new public restroom planned for downtown as well as authorization of change orders for George & Lynch and Becker Morgan Group related to the Milford Corporate Center.
A Transportation Improvement District (TID) agreement between the city and Winward Milford, LLC, related to the new Dollar General to be constructed on Rehoboth Boulevard will be discussed. A bid award will be authorized for the Police Maintenance Building as well.
Only one ordinance introduction is on the agenda for Monday. It is for a conditional use for the lands of Amy Perfetti. Perfetti purchased the historic Godwin-Baker home in 2025 and opened Stone and Sage Holistic Healing in a portion of the home that was previously Dr. Baker’s Office. Because the home is in a residential area, the city issued a violation for the business as she needed to apply for a conditional use. Because this is an introduction, there will be no discussion about the request tonight and it will appear on a future agenda for discussion and approval.
Perfetti did go before the Board of Adjustments in January to request 10 variances for the property and all were approved.
Public comment is permitted at the beginning of the meeting. The public comment period is 15 minutes, and each person is permitted to speak for three minutes. If there is a public hearing on the agenda, the city asks that speakers do not use the public comment portion for their remarks but wait until the hearing to express opinions.
City Council meetings begin at 6 PM and can be attended in person or virtually. Public comment is accepted for virtual attendees by using the “raise hand” feature when asked to do so.
