One of the most popular events in downtown Milford, the Downtown Bakery Tour will return on Saturday, October 25 from 8 AM to 1 PM. An event that began before COVID, taking a break during the pandemic, but revived last year by several bakeries downtown, drew huge crowds last year.
“This began before COVID,” Angie Robles of My Sister’s Fault, who spearheaded the event last year, said. “We could not wait to bring it back. We reached out to local bakeries and they were so excited to do it.”
A self-guided tour that allows participants to win prizes includes Fortunata’s Bakery, Dolce Bakery & Coffee Shop, My Sister’s Fault and Ezra’s Bakery. Fortunata’s and Dolce open at 8 AM, Ezra’s Bakery opens at 7 AM and My Sister’s Fault opens at 9 AM that day. Pick up a flyer at any participating bakery this week and take it with you to the bakery.
“Just make a purchase to get your flyer stamped, but make sure to get the stamp” Robles said. “Once you complete the tour, drop off the flyer at any of the locations for a chance to win prizes. The winners will be announced on Facebook Live.”
All the bakeries are asking that people follow them on social media to find out what specials will be offered that day and what prizes could be won.
“This is a great way to sample some of the delicious items available in downtown Milford,” Robles said. “We are all working together to promote the delicousness in our town and we are so excited to bring this fun event back to Milford.”
The event is being marketed as a “Foodie Treasure Hunt,” and encourages participants to stroll through Milford in celebration of fall. In addition to the Dessert Tour, other businesses plan to partner as part of the event, and those details will be announced on social media as the event draws closer. There is no ticket required for the event.
Ezra’s Bakery is located at 115 NE Front Street on the side of Splash Laundromat. My Sister’s Fault is located at 10 SW Front Street while Dolce is located at 36 North Walnut Street. Fortunata’s is located at 602 SE 4th Street.
