To better support the comfort, healing and well-being of patients, Bayhealth updated their visitation policy, effective October 1, 2025. The updated policy provides a more flexible and inclusive environment for patients and their loved ones. It also retains the safe and supportive atmosphere at all Bayhealth facilities.
Effective October 1, children of any age may visit as long as any child under the age of 16 is accompanied by an adult. Patients may also have up to two visitors at a time during designated visiting hours. Those hours are 8 AM to 8 PM. Minors are not included in the two-person limit. This should provide better flexibility for families.
Patients may designate care partners who can have open unrestricted access to their loved one at any time. Keep in mind that Mother/Baby, Emergency Department and other units within the hospital may have specific visitation policies in addition to those for the general hospital. Patients should speak to their care team to learn if there are additional restrictions.
Bayhealth continues to provide a compassionate, healing environment that supports patient recovery and promotes family involvement in the care as well as healing process. Bayhealth encourages all patients and visitors to review the full visitation policy online or speak with a team member upon arrival.
