The Milford Community Parade, one of the most highly anticipated fall events, is planned for October 15, 2025, at 6:30 PM. This year’s parade will include 12 marching bands from Delaware and Maryland.
“We are honored to have so many bands performing in the parade every year,” Charles Gray, chairperson of the parade, said. “This year is special because Dover’s Middle and High School are returning for the first time since the pandemic.”
In addition to the marching bands, this year’s parade will also feature floats created by civic organizations, businesses and student groups. Dignitaries such as Milford Mayor Todd Culotta, city council members, the Chamber of Commerce Honorary Mayor and more will also be featured in the parade. Sunbelt Rentals will sponsor this year’s parade and create a float for the crowds to enjoy.
“The Milford Rotary Club will celebrate their 100th year this year so their float will be one to watch for,” Gray said. “Burris Logistics, our awards sponsor, is also celebrating their 100th anniversary. Entries are judged and awards presented.”
Applications to enter the parade will be accepted until October 2, 2025. Parade route, rules and more information is available now by clicking here. Local residents can also find the detour route during the parade with accompanying GPS directions.
“The parade committee meets throughout the year to prepare for the fun-filled family evening,” Gray said. “The all-volunteer committee has members form Kent and Sussex Counties. We rely on the help of our volunteers, police agencies, Carlisle Fire Company and Kent and Sussex Fire Policemen. We also rely on the City of Milford departments to make it a successful parade every year.”
The event is so popular every year spectators begin setting up chairs in their favorite viewing spot early in the morning despite the fact the parade does not begin until evening.
“The marching bands with their melodic tunes in brass, winds and percussion will bring the street alive this year,” Gray said. “Our website has the parade route with parking options noted. Everyone is invited to the Milford Community Parade.”
