DE Turf has planned their inaugural Rock N’ Play Music Festival and Community Day on Saturday, September 13 from 3 to 9 PM at the complex. The 12 synthetic turf fields will be transformed into a community festival that will feature local talent, local food and local fun in a family atmosphere.
“The festival will showcase an exciting lineup of local artists, including the Division Street Band, The Mad Dabbers, Trailer Park Casanovas and the ever-popular Mike Hines and the Look, so music will appeal to everyone,” Bonnie Ingram-Grubb, Executive Assistant at DE Turf said. “Between sets, guests can explore food trucks, games and family-friendly activities such as bubble soccer, laser tag, face-painting, bumper cars and more.”
In the past, DE Turf has held community days to extend outreach to the families and friends of the local athletes that play on their fields. DE Turf is a non-profit organization and understands the importance of supporting small business along with local industries.
“This year, we decided to expand our outreach and develop our organization,” Ingram-Grubb said. “We decided to pair our annual community day with a music festival to broaden our reach and expand the festivities.”
The event benefits DE Turf, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding sports and recreation opportunities along the Delmarva shore.
“We consider ourselves more than just a sports complex,” Ingram-Grubb said. “DE Turf is where the community comes to play. This event will help expand our sports programming dedicated to providing a premier facility for youth and adult athletes to foster skills and grow their game.”
Ingram-Grubb explained that the event would be a combination of entertainment and impact.
“This is the perfect outing for families, music lovers and anyone looking to spend the day celebrating with local talent and businesses,” she said.
Tickets are $25 each and children under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased online here or DE Turf. They can also be purchased in person at the complex.
