At the request of the trustee for the Revocable Trust of Pamela Davis Thompson, the Annexation Committee will review a request to annex property at 2 Brandywine Road in Shawnee Acres. City Planner Rob Pierce explained this was not a request for council to approve the annexation.
“This is not formally approving an annexation, it is just acknowledging the request and sending the application to the annexation committee,” Pierce said.
The request was submitted by Pamela Davis Thompson and described the property as having a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, two-car garage home with a failed septic system.
“Per an agreement put in place when water and sewer connections were made available in 2003, with the City of Milford and Shawnee Acres and Shawnee Acres Addition, as private septic systems failed to function appropriately, the properties that have public water and public sewer available and the City of Milford allows, must then connect,” the request read. “Those properties that are contiguous with City of Milford parcels must also be annexed to the same. The purpose of this request is to seek annexation for this parcel and utilize all the services and resources that the city has to offer as well as to provide support to the nearby hospital and medical offices.”
Council voted with a vote of seven to zero to send the request to the Annexation Committee. Councilwoman Madula Kalesis was not present at the meeting.
