Delaware State Police arrested Caitlynn Scott, 28, of Lincoln for an incident that occurred at the Delaware State Fair on Friday, July 25. A 26-year-old man from Milford was also arrested.
Troopers were called to Gate 7 at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington for the report of an assault. According to police, the victim was involved in an argument with the 26-year-old man who was driving her to another destination in Sussex County when the victim requested to be dropped off at the Harrington casino instead.
Upon arrival at the gate, the man forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle and, when the victim reached into the vehicle to retrieve her purse, the rear passenger pepper sprayed her. The suspects fled in an unknown direction and the victim was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for injuries sustained from the chemical spray to her face. The rear seat passenger was later identified as Scott.
The suspect vehicle was located in Milford and a traffic stop conducted. During the stop, troopers made contact with Scott and the 26-year-old male and both were taken into custody without incident. They were both taken to Troop 3 where they were charged with misdemeanor offense. In addition, Scott was charged with assault in the second degree, a felony, and released on $3,000 unsecured bond.
