The First Friday celebration in July fell on July 4th and Milfordians came out in force to celebrate in Bicentennial Park in Milford. Chairs filled the center of the park, vendors lined the sidewalks and food trucks offered delicious options to eat as DJ Dave kicked off the celebration with the “Star Spangled Banner,” then spun tunes until 7 PM when the Funsters began playing under the gazebo.
Dancing to the music was the theme of the night as people go their feet, danced on the sidewalks and grass while others sang along in their chairs to popular hits from today and yesterday.
The next First Friday event is August 1 from 5 to 9 PM and will celebrate many cultures of Milford. Calling it a Multicultural Festival, organizers will again close Walnut Street and Park Avenue to foot traffic, businesses will remain open late and there will be performances demonstrating the many cultures that exist in Milford.
