Bayhealth is excited to celebrate the first graduating class of its new Clinician Leadership Development Program (CLDP)—a nine-month journey focused on helping physicians and advanced practice clinicians grow into strong, effective leaders.
The program kicked off in September 2024 and was created to help bridge the gap between clinical training and the leadership skills needed to thrive in today’s complex healthcare world. Participants met monthly for half-day interactive sessions, led by Bayhealth’s executive team and other experts. Topics included everything from healthcare finance and how the organization works, to building self-awareness and leading high-performing teams.
“When we opened the application process last summer, we were thrilled by the enthusiasm and caliber of applicants from across the Bayhealth system,” said Dr. Lawrence Ward, Vice President of Physician Services & Clinical Integration. “The energy and dedication of this first cohort are incredible. Watching their leadership skills grow over the past nine months has been inspiring.”
Keisha Morris, Director of Leadership & Organizational Development, added, “We’re committed to developing tailored professional growth opportunities across all stages of a healthcare career. The CLDP is just one example of our investment in the future of clinical leadership at Bayhealth.”
