In honor of Veteran’s Day, Milford Museum’s American History series will feature a presentation by a retired Special Operations Soldier Christopher VanSant on Saturday, November 14 at 1 PM at the Milford Public Library in Milford. The program will highlight VanSant’s military career.
A Delaware native, VanSant is a retired Special Operations Veteran with over 20 years of service.

He served in 11 combat deployments as both a Team Member and Team Leader in 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (Delta Force). The program will include details on his service in Afghanistan, the invasion of Iraq and the capture of Saddam Hussein.
In addition to providing insight into the life of a Special Ops solider, VanSant will focus on loss, grief, injury, hitting rock bottom and the path to recovery. He will also talk about his life after serving, which included taking lessons learned and incorporating them into a successful business model. VanSant has been seen and heard by millions through appearances on the Shawn Ryan show and the Mike Force podcast.
VanSant is a 1995 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School. He joined the United States Army soon after high school graduation. His service included time in the 75t Ranger Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division; the 82nd Airborne Division and 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (Delta Force).

During the latter part of his military career, VanSant held the position of Soldier Systems Commodity Chief and subsequently as the Deputy Chief of the G8, Force Modernization Office for 1st Special Forces Command. Transitioning to civilian life, VanSant became the Chief Operating Officer for Tyr Tactical LLC, a U.S. manufacturer of body armor, ballistic shields and tactical nylon products along with clothing and K9 equipment.

In 2022, VanSant formed his own consulting company, allowing him to tailor his work-life balance and pursue professional passions which included bringing new innovations to the warfighter as well as supporting veterans through charitable organizations. An advocate for veteran and LEO mental health having navigated both traditional and non-traditional paths to recovery, VanSant searches for ways to help veterans and LEO’s recover using the healing properties of outdoor pursuits.
