At a recent meeting, Milford City Council approved a contract with KCI Technologies Inc. to provide road and infrastructure evaluation, bid document road design and prepare and manage the bid process for nine streets in Milford. The funds for the project were identified in the FY26 annual street paving fund.
“Recently, we completed the FY25 surface project and that was very successful,” Willis Shafer, Public Works Director, said. “Very happy with the way we proceeded with Diamond Materials. KCI will perform manhole inspections, will oversee the CCTV of the wastewater system and design the phases and develop the bid process and the documents. They will help us manage the bid phase process and determine who will be awarded the bid.”
The roads included in the project are Northeast 5th Street, Northeast 6th Street, a portion of Southeast 4th Street, a portion of South Washington Street, a portion of Fisher Avenue, Hall Place, Lucia Circle, a portion of McColley Street and Montgomery Street.
The cost of KCI’s contract is $90,200 and staff recommended council approve the agreement.
“As in the past with these projects, this is a comprehensive approach that all things are being viewed,” Councilman Jason James, who made the motion to approve the contract, said. “The infrastructure and all the like as part of a rehabilitation project.”
Council approved the contract with a vote of six to zero as Councilman Dan Marabello and Councilwoman Madula Kalesis were absent.
