Sussex County Land Trust recently announced that they will again be a recipient of proceeds from the 2025 Dogfish Dash, planned for Sunday, September 28 at the Dogfish Head Milton Brewery. The race draws more than 2,000 people who race a 3.81-mile course through historic Milton.
“Dogfish Head has a long-standing tradition of partnering with non-profit organizations, donating all race proceeds to support their missions,” Sara Bluhm, Executive Director of Sussex County Land Trust, said. “Following a successful partnership in 2024 that raised more than $100,000, the brewery has once again selected Sussex County Land Trust as this year’s beneficiary. Funds raised will continue to support the Trust’s mission of preserving open space, protecting natural and cultural resources and enhancing public recreation across Sussex County.”
Bluhm hopes that members of the public, businesses and other organizations join through sponsorships which start at just $500. In addition, the Trust recently launched a new donor partnership program designed to expand opportunities for individuals, businesses and organizations who wish to leave a lasting legacy.

“Through this partnership, supporters can secure naming rights for amenities, trails ad recreational features across Trust-owned properties throughout Sussex County,” Bluhm said. “The initiative provides critical funding to help develop and maintain parks, preserves and open spaces for public use.”
The Trust recently added Stephen P. Hudson Park in Milton as well as Nanticoke Crossing Park. These are two parks created through strong community partnerships that reflect the mission of the Trust to enhance public access to all natural spaces. The new donor program offers a meaningful way to invest in conservation efforts and connect future generations to the outdoors as several more parks are under development.
