The Milford Community Parade, one of Milford’s most anticipated fall events, steps off on October 21 at 6:30 PM. The parade will celebrate its 70th year this year.
This year’s theme is “Comic Books Come to Life” and will also feature a tribute to the 250th anniversary of the United States. The parade is free to attend and those who wish to watch are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to set up along the route. The parade is very popular, so organizers recommend staking the perfect viewing location early.

The parade travels and almost two-mile route from Milford Middle School, down School Street to Seabury Avenue. It then turns left on South Walnut Street, moving along South Walnut to North Walnut Street. The parade ends at Brigg’s Stadium behind Milford High School.
There are three designated reviewing areas set up along the route. Each viewing area has an announcer, restrooms and food vendors. Downtown businesses also offer specials during the parade, including coffee, hot chocolate and cocktails.
A Quarter Mania Auction to raise funds for the parade is planned for October 17. The doors open at 6 PM with an auction at 7 PM. The auction will be held at Carlisle

Fire Company Grier Banquet Hall. Admission is $20 per person ($25 at the door) and includes one bidding paddle. Additional paddles are available for $5 each. For $40, purchase an “All-In” ticket which allows all night play. The All-in ticket is $45 at the door.
Items valued at $75 or more could be won for $1, 75 cents, 50 cents even 25 cents. Bids are made and a number is drawn. If the number bid is drawn, the bidder wins. Numbered paddles cannot be reserved. Previews of all items are available starting at 6 PM. Refreshments provided by the Ladies Auxiliary will be available for sale as well. Purchase tickets online at the Milford Community parade website.
