Milford Police Department were called to North Church Street around 6:45 AM on August 30 for reports of a large party with shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a group of individuals around a running vehicle which was occupied by two people.
During the initial contact, officers observed the operator of the vehicle exhibited signs of alcohol impairment. Further investigation led to the discovery of a Taurus 9mm handgun hidden inside the vehicle’s center console. Officers also located a spent shell casing on the ground nearby, corroborating reports of gunfire.
The operator of the vehicle, identified as Evens Amisal, 30, of Milford, initially resisted officers’ commands, but was taken into custody.
He was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon – firearm; reckless endangering, first degree; resisting arrest; and driving a vehicle under the influence fo alcohol (DUI).
Amisal was arraigned through the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delaware Department of Correction in lieu of $17,100 secured bail. A no-contact order was issued and he is scheduled to appear in court at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
