More than 100 vendors, artisans, crafters, food vendors and community organizations are expected to gather at Hudson Fields on Saturday, June 27, for the return of First State Fest, a celebration highlighting Delaware’s food, small businesses and community spirit.
Organizers say the festival is designed to showcase the state’s unique “302” identity by bringing together local entrepreneurs, makers and restaurants for a day of shopping, entertainment and family-friendly activities.
Attendees will have an opportunity to explore products and services from Delaware-based businesses while sampling offerings from food trucks and popular local eateries, including Grotto Pizza and Helen’s Sausage House. Live music from Delaware DJs will provide entertainment throughout the day.
One of the festival’s featured attractions will be a scrapple-eating contest sponsored by Kirby and Holloway, adding a distinctly Delaware flavor to the event. Organizers will also offer raffles and door prizes, along with inflatables and activities for children. Adult attendees will have access to cocktails and other beverages.
Admission is $5 for adults, while children 12 and younger will be admitted free.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Stevenson Foundation, a Delaware-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local communities through scholarships, grants and charitable giving. The foundation works to assist small businesses, students and other nonprofit organizations while reinvesting funds raised through community events back into local causes. Since its founding, the organization has supported a variety of community initiatives and charitable organizations throughout Delaware.
Organizers say First State Fest not only provides a venue for local businesses to reach new customers but also helps generate funding for programs that strengthen Delaware communities.
The event will be held at Hudson Fields in Milton and is expected to draw visitors from across the state for a day celebrating local food, commerce and community engagement.
