The Dwelling Place, located in the former Village and Venue location, officially opened on Friday, September 17 with a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration. Owned by the Spence family, the Dwelling Place is a coffee shop and Christian bookstore.
“What an emotional and unforgettable weekend,” their social media read on Saturday. “From our ribbon cutting, to celebrating our Grand Opening Week, to ending it all together in worship…our hearts are so full.”
The post continued.
“Seeing so many of you walk through our doors, gather on the patio, support this dream, and celebrate alongside us was something we’ll never forget,” it read. “We are incredibly grateful for every person who showed up, prayed for us, encouraged us, shared a post, grabbed a cup of coffee, or simply reminded us why we started this journey in the first place. God has been so faithful through every step of bringing The Dwelling Place to life, and this weekend was such a beautiful reminder of His goodness. We feel beyond blessed to be part of this community and so excited for everything still to come.”
The Dwelling Place has been a dream of April Spence since she was young. Her mother was saved in a Christian bookstore and that led to the entire family, from her father to her husband and children also accepting Jesus. Her mother worked in a Christian bookstore at their church, and Spence would help her sometimes.
“My mom passed away two years ago, and God started placing it on my hear that the time is now, so here we are,” Spence said. “We plan to offer coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, matcha, teas and booked goods as well as Christian new and used books plus apparel and gifts.”
The Dwelling Place, located at 27 South Walnut Street, Suite 104, Milford, is open Tuesday through Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4 PM; Friday and Saturday from 6:30 AM to 7 PM. They are closed Sunday and Monday.
