Ron Mescola, who registered to run for the Ward 2 seat currently held by Councilwoman Lori Connor, has announced he is withdrawing from the race as he does not feel he has the time to fully commit to the position. Mescola notified Mayor Todd Culotta he was dropping out of the race on Saturday.
Mescola is currently a member of the Board of Adjustments and will remain on that board. His withdrawal from the election leaves Desiray Anderson, Marianina “Nina” Pletcher and Kim Wills as the remaining candidates for Ward 2.
Because there are no candidates running opposed in any other election and since the mayor is also unopposed, only voters in Ward 2 will be voting in the election on Saturday, April 25. Since no one filed to run for Ward 3, a special election must be held to replace Councilman Micheal Stewart who chose not to run again.
It is unclear if it is too close to the election for her name to be removed since the election is only one week away. The elections will be held at the Public Works building at 180 Vickers Drive, Milford from 10 AM to 6 PM.
