A Milton man has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting that occurred April 11 near the Cool Spring area, according to Delaware State Police.
Police said officers were called at approximately 5:30 p.m. to Forest Road, where they found 47-year-old Jerry Lee Hall of Lincoln suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard of a residence. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators allege that 62-year-old Myron Savage approached Hall and shot him multiple times before fleeing the area on a black three-wheeled scooter. Authorities later issued a warrant for Savage’s arrest.
According to court documents, the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute between the suspect and the victim that dated back approximately one year. Authorities also allege Savage made a threatening statement to the victim prior to the shooting.
“You’re already dead,” Savage was heard saying before pulling the trigger on Hall who court records say was visiting a home in the Milton area.
Savage was taken into custody without incident on April 12 in Harrington. He has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 3, Savage was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $1,060,000 cash bond.
The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective A. Bluto at 302-741-2859 or reach out through Delaware Crime Stoppers.
