Recently, Chief Cecilia Ashe and the Executive Staff recognized several employees for a job well done during the 2025 year.
Chief Ashe named Cpl. Garrett Smith as the Milford Police Department’s 2025 “Officer of the Year.” Cpl. Smith serves the department in various capacities to include the Patrol Division, Special Operations Group and the Accident Reconstruction Unit.
“Garrett has distinguished himself through exceptional professionalism, unwavering dedication, and a steadfast commitment to public safety,” Ashe said. “Throughout the year, he has demonstrated remarkable leadership, sound judgment, and a deep sense of duty to the community he serves. His actions reflect the highest standards of law enforcement, earning the respect of his colleagues and the trust of the public.”
Stacie Stubbs, who serves as a Police Telecommunications Specialist, was recognized as the Milford Police Department’s 2025 “Civilian of the Year.”
“Stacie has set an extraordinary standard of excellence in her role as a police dispatcher. Her calm presence, sharp decision‑making, and unwavering professionalism have made a profound impact on both our officers and the community,” Ashe said. “Her dedication to public safety and her commitment to supporting the women and men in the field make her truly deserving of the Civilian of the Year award.”
