The owners of Kleen Energy Inc. come from a long line of successful businesses in Milford. Casey and Jason Lynch are members of the Lynch/Chaney family who have owned trucking businesses in Milford since the 1950s, including Blue Hen Lines Inc. and Diamond State Truck Brokers.
“Unfortunately, our father, Randy Lynch, and uncle, Pete Lynch, sold the family business in 2004,” Casey said. “Always dreaming of getting back into the industry in some sort of way, my brother, Jason, and I decided to partner up and start Kleen Exhaust Delaware LLC in June of 2021. We specialize in DPF cleaning for the trucking industry in the area. In December 2025, my fiancé, Heather Layton, and I bought out my brother’s half of the business and renamed it “Kleen Energy Inc.” We expanded our services into more than just DPF cleaning.”
The company offers Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) cleaning services and sells aftermarket emission system parts, including nox-sensors, temp sensors, gaskets, clamps, etc. The company also sells and delivers diesel fuel, bulk Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), bulk antifreeze, lubricants, additives and shop supplies like rags, gloves, degreasers and more.
“We went into this business due to the high demand for DPF cleaning services in the area with local trucking companies, chicken plants, farmers and more,” Casey said. “The biggest struggle starting out was that we only had one service to offer. Our competitors offered multiple services along with DPF cleaning. So, we had to provide a better service at a better price to beat our competition. This is also why we have expanded into the lubricants, DEF, additives, etc. side of thing to be able to offer more to our customers.”
Casey stated that their greatest achievement is the amazing support from the local businesses and corporate companies.
“We are grateful that they trusted us to provide them with the best service possible while saving them some money, too,” Casey said.
When asked if they would have done anything different, Casey replied that he would not.
“I would not have done anything different,” he said. “It has been a learning experience, good and bad. But it has been worth every hurdle thus far, and I look forward to what the future has in store for Kleen Energy, Inc. My advice to anyone who wants to enter this industry is to not be afraid of failing a few times before getting it right. Plan on getting your hands dirty if you want to succeed.”
