Members of the American Legion are now able to sign up for Wellcare, a Medicare Advantage Plan. The two companies announced that Wellcare will be the Official Medicare Advantage Provider of the American Legion.
“Wellcare Medicare Advantage plans are built to meet the unique needs of veterans,” a spokesperson for Wellcare, said. “These plans work alongside your current coverage, so you can keep the benefits you enjoy and get more of the benefits you need to manage your health and wellness. In many cases, it comes at absolutely no cost.”
Veterans who have VA benefits are eligible, offering them expanded access to non-VA doctors and hospitals. The plan also offers extra coverage for prescription drugs, dental, vision, hearing and mental health services. Veterans who have TRICARE for Life also enjoy expanded benefits, like prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, hearing and mental health services.
“If you qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, the Wellcare Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plan includes additional coverage as well,” the spokesperson said. “D-SNPs may also include flexible funds for over-the-counter items. The plan also includes a preloaded debit card with a n allowance to use for over-the-counter health items and dental, vision and hearing costs. The balance also rolls over, so you never lose a cent.”
There are virtual events planned to provide details on the plan. Dates and times can be found online.
