Rehoboth Beach Police were called to Rehoboth Avenue around 8 AM on October 1 for a report of shoplifting. The suspect, Korey Edge, 25, of Harrington, was in the area and located by officers.
During the investigation, police discovered that Edge possessed suspected methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. In addition, he was in possession of a folding knife with a blade in excess of 3.75 inches with attached metal knuckles.
Edge was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony; possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited; carrying a concealed deadly weapon; possession of a controlled substance tier 1 quantity; possession of drug paraphernalia not related to marijuana; shoplifting under $1500.
He was released on $8,000 unsecured bond and scheduled to appear on court at a later date.
