On September 29, Carlisle Fire Company was dispatched with reports of a fire to Brown Street around 7:20 AM. According to the company, dispatchers informed them they had received calls reporting fire along the roof line of the home. Upon arrival, the fire company confirmed there was fire through the roof and a second tanker was requested at the scene.
Engine 42-3 and its crew handled fire suppression with Tower 42 handling roof ventilation and access. Frederica’s Ladder 49 assisted with the structure while Houston’s 52-5 and Carlisle’s 42-5 crews assisted with pulling secondary lines and checking for fire extension.
All additional units remained on the roadway handling water supply operations while BLS and ALS units remained on the scene for rehab purposes. Fire police managed traffic and crowd control in the area with the scene placed under control at 8:13 AM.
“Many thanks to the crews that assisted this morning and provided a quick knock down and property preservation,” a social media post read that afternoon.
One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion at the scene. The fire is under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
