According to Dave Pickrell, owner of North Pole Creamery, the Santa House will be “rockin” on August 30 from 6 to 8 PM. David Reed will be playing “Americana Groove Music from the Caribbean to the Delta” at the Santa House, located at 1 South Walnut Street in Milford.
“This is a free, family-friendly evening of live music and sweet treats,” Pickrell said. “David Reed is a songwriter and seasoned performer who will bring a blend of Americana music to downtown.”
Reed says he is “cut from the same cloth” as Jorma Kaukonen, Taj Mahal, Mississippi John Hurt, Joseph Spence and the Davids, Lindley and Bromberg. He has the soul of Old Delta Piedmond combined with West Indian calypsonians.
“I’m not sure of any of that, but I do know this, as a multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter/recording artist, I have enjoyed bringing smiles to faces and beats to the feets of audiences young and old for most of my life,” Reed’s website reads. “Equally at home on festival and coffeehouse stages, house concert settings or as a complement to dinner parties, barbecues or weddings, I bring a sunny Caribe vibe to my fingerpickin’ folkrock, ragtime, jazz, cigar box guitar blues and original Americana repertoire.”
The event is free, but Pickrell hopes those coming to enjoy Reed’s music will enjoy an ice cream or two. He suggests bringing a chair and relax for a fun night of music.
“Come tap your toes, treat your tastebuds and soak in the vibes with your friends at North Pole Creamery,” Pickrell said.
