A volunteer firefighter for the past 13 years, Jerry Kiser passed away on August 22 at home, surrounded by his family. Kiser was 66 years old.
Born November 27, 1958, to the late Thomas L. and Nora Lee Moore Kiser, he moved from Wilmington to Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, where Kiser met and married Fran. The couple had two sons, Kevin and Eric. After living in Kennett Square for 13 years, they moved to Atglen, Pennsylvania. The couple then retired to Milton, Delaware.
Serving as a volunteer fireman for over 50 years, Kiser was Fire Chief of Kennett Square, a member of Cochranville and Fame Fire Company and West Chester. He joined the Milton Volunteer Fire Department when he moved to that town 13 years ago, last serving as Safety Officer.
Kiser was preceded in death by his three brothers, Thomas, Gary and Eddie Kiser.
He is survived by his loving wife, Francine G. “Fran” Gibson Kiser; two sons, Kevin Kiser of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania and Eric Kiser of Milton; a brother, Daniel LeGates of Christiana and a sister, Shonia LeGates of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 7 at 11 AM at Milton Fire Company, Station 85, 116 Front Street, Milton DE 19968. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Milton Fire Company, 116 Front Street, Milton, DE 19968.
