Bayhealth proudly recognized three exemplary physicians during its Medical Staff Recognition Dinner held in April at the Blue Hen Conference Center. Each year, this event highlights the outstanding contributions of physicians across the health system and reinforces Bayhealth’s commitment to excellence in patient care and medical professionalism.
This year’s Special Medical Staff Awards winners were selected from among more than 400 physicians across Bayhealth’s medical staff:
The Bayhealth Team Player Award was given to Sharad C. Patel, MD. This award honors a physician who is an active and respectful participant in the Medical Staff, shares knowledge openly and supports colleagues in the spirit of teamwork.
The Bayhealth Spirit Award went to Simran Kaur Matta, MD, who works in Internal Medicine (Critical Care). This award recognizes a physician whose actions and attitude reflect Bayhealth’s mission and values. This individual inspires and motivates others in pursuit of excellence.
Roshan Prabhu, MD received the Excellence in Service and Professionalism Award which is presented to a physician who embodies the highest standards of medical professionalism — demonstrating ethical integrity, compassionate care and responsibility to patients and peers alike.
“These awards honor physicians who not only demonstrate outstanding clinical care but also embody the culture of collaboration, compassion and leadership that makes Bayhealth stronger,” said John Fink, vice president of Medical Affairs. “We congratulate Drs. Patel, Matta and Prabhu on this well-deserved recognition.”
