Bayhealth Family Medicine Residency Program and Bayhealth Medical Group (BMG) upheld their commitment to community care by once again offering free sports physicals to local student-athletes. The event, held Saturday at Bayhealth Family Medicine, Dover, provided vital health screenings ahead of the upcoming school sports season.
A total of 63 athletes received physicals from Bayhealth’s team of Family Medicine Residents, ensuring they met league health requirements and were prepared for the physical demands of competitive play.
“This is always an impactful day—not only for the families we serve but for the broader community,” said Aditya Brahmbhatt, MD, a Resident Physician and event lead. “We want to help these student-athletes start their season off healthy and give them the tools to stay strong throughout. Sports physicals are a simple but powerful way to protect young athletes and promote lifelong wellness.”
The annual event reflects Bayhealth’s continued dedication to improving access to preventive care and advancing population health in Kent and Sussex Counties. It also spotlights the growing contributions of Bayhealth’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program and its role in training future physicians committed to community service.
Dina Perry, MBA, Vice President of Bayhealth Medical Group Physician Services, praised the spirit of teamwork behind the event’s success.
“It’s powerful when people across Bayhealth come together for our community,” Perry said. “The feedback from families is always heartfelt, and I’m proud of our team for making this event such a success once again.”
