The latest round of Encouraging Development Growth & Expansion (EDGE) grant applications will open soon, and the Delaware Division of Small Business (DSBA) is offering a webinar to provide businesses with details on how to apply for the grants. The webinar is virtual and will be held July 23 at 10 AM.
In order to qualify for the EDGE grant, a business must be majority located I Delaware and applications are judged on the business need, the competitive advantage that will be gained, the business viability and likelihood of performance as well as job creation and revenue growth. Funds can be used for market analysis assistance, advertising assistance, building infrastructure or cosmetic enhancements, essential equipment, web site design, and rent assistance for lab space. DSBA also announced that employees working in STEM companies may be able to reduce their student debt with the Star Fund. Managed by DSBA and BioConnect DE, the Delaware STEM Talent Advancement and Retention (STAR) Fund provides a compelling reason to start their journey in Delaware. Employees can receive up to $1,000 for their associate degree, up to $4,000 for a bachelor’s degree and up to $6,000 for a graduate or post-graduate degree. Learn more by visiting the DSBA website.
